To copy from the canopus:/thuban2-backups/ to someone’s home folder I did the following:

1) ssh into thuban2

2) Become root:

# sudo su –

3) cd to the target directory where you want to copy the files

# cd /var/share/home/jweisber

3) Issue this rsync command:

# rsync -av root@canopus:/thuban2-backups/home/swiggumj/B1913+16 .
